Commemorating the 39th Martyrdom Anniversary of Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan
On August 6, 2023, we mark the 39th anniversary of the martyrdom of Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, who dedicated his life to public service. His contributions as Chief of Naval Staff and Cabinet Minister remain etched in our national memory. He stands as a symbol of integrity, dedication, and self-sacrifice.
In remembrance, floral tributes were placed at his grave, and special prayers and Qur’an recitations were held. Programs were organized in Dhaka, Sylhet, Bogura, Jamalpur, as well as internationally, including in the UK and other countries, to honor his life and legacy.
‘Suravi’, a social welfare organization founded by Begum Mahbub Ali Khan, reflects his noble ideals. Special memorial events and prayers were also held at monuments in the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.
In his memory, “Mahbub Bhaban” and the “Mahbub Ali Khan Memorial Museum” have been established. Additionally, a Memorial Trust is being initiated in Sylhet to raise awareness and provide treatment for heart disease.
With deep respect and love, we remember this great individual — Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan.

Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan’s 38th death anniversary was observed on August 6, 2022, with prayers and ceremonies held across Bangladesh and abroad. His service as a naval leader, minister, and philanthropist was honored through Quran recitations, doa mahfils, and charitable donations. Memorial events took place in Sylhet, Dhaka, London, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and the USA. The family requested prayers for his soul and announced plans for a memorial museum and research trust.
