I still remember — the warmth of your affection,
How I long to call you "Baba" once more.
I still remember —
Holding your hand on the way to school,
How peaceful, how beautiful life was —
Until it was shattered by a storm unknown.
Your image lingers on memory’s canvas —
And every stroke fills my eyes with tears.
It feels as though my dreams
Lie buried in a sea of silence.
Days pass, months slip away,
Years come full circle again.
And still I feel — Baba, you might return any moment,
As I wait, breathless with hope.
আজও মনে পড়ে
— ডা. জুবাইদা রহমান
আজও মনে পড়ে- তোমার স্নেহের পরশ,
‘বাবা’ বলে ডাকতে বড় ইচ্ছে করে।
আজও মনে পড়ে-
তোমার হাত ধরে স্কুলের ক্লাসে যাওয়া
শান্ত, সুন্দর জীবন এলোমেলো করে দিল-
কোন সে ঝড়ো হাওয়া।
স্মৃতির পটে তোমার ছবি-
আঁকলেই চোখ ভরে জলে,
মনে হয় স্বপ্নগুলি-
চাপা পড়ে আছে অথৈ জলে।
দিন বয়ে যায়, মাস পেরোয়,
বছর ঘুরে আসে,
মনে হয় বাবা- এই বুঝি তুমি আসবে,
অপেক্ষায় থাকি রুদ্ধশ্বাসে।
